“What significance does Easter week have for you?” was Jean Baptiste’s question to the young woman sitting beside him on the crowded taxi today. She came from a Catholic family but didn’t feel she was a sinner, therefore didn’t need Jesus. JB explained Jesus' ministry of reconciliation, that even the rich young ruler, who had kept all the commands his whole life, ‘lacked one thing’…
“Just as you want the best for your children her in Kinshasa, your heavenly father wants the best for you. God has the best for you. The starting place is with Jesus and the cross.”
By the end of our taxi-bus ride they had made plans to talk and pray that night. With faith, JB said to me later, “Tonight she will start her life of reconciliation with Jesus. It was no accident that she sat beside me today on the taxi. God is good.”
Always prepared!
