The 6 teams returned with incredible stories. Each story connected to God's big story of reconciliation. I am yearly surprised with the variety of 'God stories' and the impact of serving alongside our international family on participants' lives and the international community. What is it about preparing, going, serving and entering into relationships across borders and language barriers that motivates, inspires and highlights the realities of God's mission of reconciliation?
We took time to remember that a short term mission trip is not an 'end goal' but simply another way to be oriented for the next step of our journey of faith. If we choose to be intentional about processing our lives with each other we enter a rhythm of orientation, assignment and debrief that continues daily, weekly, monthly... a life of growth and transformation with purpose to be in the centre of God's big story.
