“I
hear you’ve moved to Winnipeg…”
Point of clarification. We live in Gretna… we rent a house
on Hennessey Blvd in Lindenwood area of Winnipeg. We sub-let the Hennessey
house to Brandon & Benj and three of their Gretna gang. Yes, Friday night
pizza & movies have continued, but at the Hennessey house. Carol and I have
furnished the fire-side room with a futon and armoire with some office clothes
since we’re there about half-time. This fantastic arrangement is helping us
(and the boys) adjust to ‘empty-nest’ syndrome in stages. We get to see the
boys while at university and they get the occasional gift of a clean kitchen
and vacuumed floors. If you get a chance, drop in for a visit or drive down our
street in the evening and experience Polar Bear Lane during December &
January.
Brandon’s band Pocket Change
recently released their EP ‘Party Culture’ at the Exchange Community Church to
a packed audience. This event was the work of over a year of fundraising,
writing retreats, studio time and rehearsing in between work and classes. If
you’d like to purchase their new CD, older tracks, and/or a T-shirt, let us
know or visit their Facebook page. Pocket Change (Facebook) Brandon is back at Canadian Mennonite University after a year at U of M and is applying for Red River College’s Digital Media Design program for the fall semester.
Benjamin
is doing very well despite the challenges of the increased reading and writing
load in his first year at Canadian Mennonite University. Benj loves to learn and will discuss at
length the concepts he is learning with anyone who is curious. Benj’s love for
learning will be enhanced in the second term with a reduced load and a
part-time job.
Prayer Requests:
Brandon is accepted to Red
River’s Digital Media Design program.
Benj gets a part-time job in
Winnipeg that allows him to continue his studies.
The Hennessey household
remains an open door of hospitality to the many who visit.
