Christmas Lights

Merry Christmas from Carol & Lloyd
“You’re here to be light, bringing out the God-colours in the world…Keep open house; be generous with your lives. By opening up to others, you’ll prompt people to open up with God, this generous Father in heaven.” – Matthew 5:14-16

Intercession trip to Japan
We have been sending Global servants and ACTION teams to work alongside the Japan conference for the last ten years. What a joy to visit our partners personally with a prayer team! Our team fostered relationships with the pastors and their churches, joining them in praying for their communities.

Our visit provided an opportunity to dream about the next ten years of partnership.  We look forward to hosting a Japanese delegation that will be joining us for SOAR Heartland in March! This summer we plan to return to Japan with a few Canadian youth teams to help facilitate a mini-SOAR program with the Japanese churches. We are also looking forward to summer 2020 when the Olympics will be in Tokyo!

18-19 TREK Central Canada

TREK Central Canada 2018-19
is beautifully diverse in cultures: We have First Nations participants, a church planter from the Netherlands, a Guatemalan and Korean ministers in addition to European Mennonite and Baptist background participants.

Serving an increasingly multi-ethnic community in 2018 revealed the “God colours” of the church. Our Cree and Ojibwe friends are teaching us that good stewardship is not always about saving but is about sharing with abandon, being interdependent and trusting the community in matters of survival. Our Korean friends are teaching us that hospitality and gift giving express the heart of a loving heavenly Father who cares deeply for his children.

Over the last 10 years, we have been sending ACTION, TREK and prayer teams internationally to serve alongside our workers and church conferences.  Now our international partners wish to send their emerging leaders to work with our Canadian churches! A holistic Gospel comes to life as we cross-pollinate ethnic expressions of faith in Jesus. Mission is from everywhere to everywhere.

We invite you to invest in ministry exchanges to train, equip and provide experience for emerging leaders from our global family.  (Bursary code is C7963). [Donation deadline extended]

Please consider pledging, donating or joining me!

Family News

Brandon & Sophie enjoy the simplicity of life in Osbourne Village where they have a short commute to their places of work in the Exchange district.  Currently, Brandon and Sophie are both working in the world of animation.  We enjoy their weekly visits for a meal, games and lively conversation around story-telling and obscure movies that don’t make it to the blockbuster theatres.

Benjamin has just completed his first term in the Digital Media Design program at Red River College. Early mornings and late nights have become his routine. His days are filled with
drawing, programming, photography, videography, and commuting commuting commuting.

We are all looking forward to a fun Christmas break together in Canmore AB. We have been enjoying family workout nights for the last two months in preparation for our annual ski/snowboard days at Lake Louise. Then in January, Lloyd is running his first ultra, the Frozen Falcon, an 8-hour trail run. Lloyd is raising money for our Internship bursary (C7963) for emerging leaders.

I say this every year, but I’ll say it again, “this has been our most active year of ministry!” Thank you for your support and prayers. Thanks to a faithful team of young (and not so young) disciples, we are able to partner with many churches in developing disciple-makers, plant churches, and foster partnerships.

OUR VISION – We partner with churches to develop and multiply healthy disciple-makers and missional leaders locally and internationally to build Christian communities where people are known, loved and activated in mission & service.

OUR RELATIONSHIPS – Our service requires invested family, friends, groups, and churches who encourage, pray, support and champion the mission of Jesus to “make disciples”.

OUR NEEDS – Our salary and ministry needs are dependent upon cheerful givers. Consider supporting monthly, yearly or one-time gifts:
